Smart Classrooms: The NICO has developed spacious, new-gen, and well-illuminated lecture halls on its campus. All the classrooms are resourced with the latest technologies, LCD projectors, comfortable seating arrangements, audio-video devices, and the Internet. This ambiance in return allows faculty members to deliver the subject curriculum in the best way possible, and students also find it easy to collaborate and discuss topics smoothly.
Hostels: To provide a home-like safe and secure environment to students away from their homes, so that they can pursue their dreams comfortably, separate accommodation facilities are offered by the college to both girls and boys. These hostels are well-resourced with clean and well-furnished rooms with attached bathrooms, a cot, cupboard, study table and chair, recreation facility with a TV, and enough space for indoor, and outdoor games, 24*7 electricity and water supply, and internet.
There is also a mess to provide delicious, freshly prepared, and hygienic food items. Students can order both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals through an app called Paaka-Shaale. A dedicated Mess Committee decides the menu every day. Further, the Warden monitors daily activities and the security of students is taken care of by security personnel. Library: An amazing Knowledge Center has been developed in the college to enhance everyone's knowledge with a plethora of printed/digital learning sources, and to inculcate reading habits in students. It is home to 2600+ media-specific books related to research, journalism, media studies, photography, film, advertising, corporate communication, graphic design and digital media.
Apart from this, there are books on history, political science, sociology, subaltern studies, cultural studies, philosophy, environment, development science, and health. Last but not least, young minds can explore 107 DVDs, 17 periodicals, and 6 newspapers. The Library has a ProQuest license, which allows students to access a global archive of dissertations and thesis.
Conveyance: NICO has a fleet of buses to ensure smooth and free-of-cost pickup and drop off of students and staff members from nearby locations.
Health Care: As and when needed, medical and dental treatment can be availed by students at the 1000-bed multispecialty Justice K S Hegde Charitable Hospital and the A B Shetty Dental College Hospital, both of which are situated in the campus.
Cafeteria: An aesthetic, spacious and modernized Cafeteria also exists in the institute premises to provide highly nutritious, freshly cooked, and wide variety of food items to both staff members and students at an affordable price. In addition, students can enjoy South Indian dishes, and fast food like pasta, sandwiches and noodles.
Gymnasium and Sports: With the aim to keep students physically fit, and mentally healthy, an air-conditioned, and multi-house Gym has been built in college campus. It remains open from 6 AM to 10 PM. Student Wellness Centre: The objective of this facility is to provide a stress-free campus to students and encourage them to live a healthy lifestyle. Studio: A well-maintained, and new-gen Studio with equipment like BM Pocket Cinema Camera 4K BM 4K Video Mixer, Sony 4K Video Camera CanonDSLR and Lenses, Elinchrom Studio Lights, LED Studio Lights, Allen & Heath Audio Mixer, and Teleprompter have been cultivated to provide real-world newsroom feel, and hands-on exposure to students.
Multimedia Lab and iMac Editing Studio: In this lab, students learn how to produce graphics, sounds, and animated videos using 30 iMacs, software, and the latest equipment. Then there is an editing studio, where individuals are taught how to edit audio and video, design graphics, web pages, or newspapers.
Auditorium: The college has a state-of-the-art Auditorium with a seating capacity of 175 people. It is used to organize various kinds of events and extracurricular activities including Seminars, Conferences, Workshops, Project Presentations, Debates, Personality Development Sessions, Mock Interviews, and Group Discussions.
