College of Technology (COT) is located at Pantnagar, in the state of Uttarakhand. It was established in 1966 under the then Uttar Pradesh Agricultural University and now called Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology.

College of Technology, Pantnagar offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA and Ph.D. courses in various streams under different departments.

The minimum eligibility for admission in B.Tech is 10+2 from a recognized board.
For PG courses, candidates should be a graduate and for Ph.D., a Master’s degree is required to be eligible.
Admission to B.Tech will be based on the merit of Joint Entrance Exam (JEE).
M.Tech admission will firstly be through GATE score and vacant seats will be filled based on aggregate in B.Tech.
MCA admission will be based on Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology (GBPUAT) Entrance Exam.
The admission to M.Tech program is also made through a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score.
For Ph.D., the admission is done on the basis of an entrance test conducted by the college.

College of Technology, Pantnagar B.Tech Admission 2023

College of Technology, GBPUAT offers B.Tech courses in 8 streams. To be eligible, candidates should have passed 10+2 with 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB), and English as mandatory subjects.

Admissions to B.Tech program will be on the basis of merit of JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) conducted by CBSE.

College of Technology, Pantnagar M.Tech and MCA Admission 2023

COT Pantnagar offers M.Tech in 11 specializations and a MCA program under the PG department. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in B.Tech to be eligible for M.Tech, whereas a graduate degree in any stream is required to be eligible for MCA.

Admission in M.Tech is given on the basis of GATE score in the relevant field. If the case of vacant seats, admission will be on the basis of OGPA/percentage of marks in B.Tech.

Admission in MCA is based on an entrance exam conducted by GB Pant University.

The eligible rank holders qualified in GATE are required to attend counselling.

College of Technology, GBPUAT offers Ph.D. programs in 11 streams of Engineering. Candidates must have M.E/ M.Tech or equivalent degree in the concerned branch as well as B.E. / B.Tech. in any branch of Engineering or its equivalent to be eligible for admission.

Admission is based on an entrance test conducted by GB Pant University.

College of Technology, Pantnagar Application Process 2023

Students can follow the subsequent steps to apply for the courses:

Visit the official website of GB Pant University to fill-up the application form.
Click on the link of GBPUAT Application Form.
Fill up this application form with all the required information.
Upload your scanned photograph (size between 20kb-50kb), signature (10kb – 20kb) and, left hand thumb impression (10kb – 20kb).
Save your application form and take a printout.
General/OBC candidates have to pay INR 1200 as application fees whereas SC/SC/PH have to pay INR 600.
Application fees can be submitted via debit/credit card/internet banking/bank challan.
In case of Bank Challan, the candidate should deposit application fees by presenting the printed bank challan to any branch of State Bank of India.
Send the complete application form, fees receipt, self-attested copy of Category and Weightage Certificate (if eligible), copy of Certificate/Marksheet qualifying examination, and copy of High School Certificate to the following address:

Remarks:

I didn't apply for other colleges as I want to pursue btech in agriculture entha and I have choosen this college because very few colleges are offering agricultural engineering in India and specially in uttarakhand only college of technology, pantnagar are offering this course. The addmission procedure is that our college accept JEE mains score and the councelling was conducted by Uttaranchal Technical university. Any for my branch it also accept ICAR score and councelling is done by nta icar itself for it.

Which college is best: MAIT or GB Pant?

It is difficult to compare colleges. Both are unique in their own way. No college can fulfill all your expectations.

Some of the distinctive features of the institutes are as follows.

Placements:

MAIT: The placement for CS in MAIT is around 70-80% and for EEE it is 30-40%. Most of the students of mechanical engineering students in the college find themselves placed in Accenture or Infosys.
GB Pant: Despite some core companies coming to the college for placements, the overall placement is not so good. As compared to MAIT, the CS and IT placements are not up to the mark.

Faculty:

MAIT: The faculty members of MAIT are more or less experienced. You can get in touch with the teachers to get an in-depth analysis of the course.
GB Pant: The faculty is not that cooperative and you will have to study a lot by yourself. The teachers do not have much experience.

Environment and Structure:

MAIT: The greenery in the college is not well maintained. The only playing ground in the college. There are two auditoriums in the college and separate blocks for each stream.
GB Pant: The environment of the structure leaves a lot to be desired. It could use some renovation.

I know someone who used to be a student of MAIT and she has told me that it has a better record of placements than that of G.B. Pant.
