PSG Institute of Management is a private business school located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Affiliated to Anna University, PSGIM offers various Postgraduate courses such as Masters of Business Administration (MBA Full-time and Part-time) and a 2-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM).

The 2-year MBA full-time course is offered in various specializations viz. Human resources, marketing, finance, Systems, and operations. In addition to it, PSGIM also offers a 3-year MBA part-time course and 2-year full-time PG Diploma in Management (PGDM) for which 2-year work experience is mandatory.

Selection to MBA is done on the basis of merit obtained in MAT (Management Aptitude Test)
Candidates applying for the 2-year MBA full-time course need to have a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university
Final selection for all courses offered by PSG Institute of Management is based on Group Discussion and Personal Interview round.
Work experience is highly recommended for the MBA Part-time and PGDM course.
Candidates should have at least two years of post-qualification work experience and preferably worked as an executive or an administrator upon completing their Bachelor’s degree.
For admission to the 2-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) course, candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
Admiss ion to MBA, Part-time MBA and PGDM program is offered on the basis of MAT/ TANCET/CAT/ ATMA .

PSGIM MBA Admission 2023

PSG Institute of Management offers a full-time MBA program for a duration of 2 years. The institute also offers an MBA program in collaboration with the University of Toledo.

The University of Toledo, USA in tie-up with PSG offers a two-year full time MBA program at the PSG campus. Under this program candidates can choose from two pathways:

Pathway 1: To study both the years at PSG and degree awarded by University of Toledo

Pathway 2: To study one year at PSG and second year at the University of Toledo and degree awarded by the University of Toledo.

PSGIM MBA Eligibility:

Candidates applying for the 2-year MBA full-time course must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

PSGIM MBA Part-Time Admission 2023

The PSG Institute of Management offers part-time MBA program. The duration of this program is 3 Years.

Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized university in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

PSGIM MBA Part-Time Selection Process:

The selection is based on the MAT/ CAT/ATMA/ TANCET score. PSG Institute of Management requires applicants to have 2+ years of work experience in order to apply for MBA Part TIme program.

Candidates should have worked as an executive or administrator in any commercial, government or industrial establishment. Shortlisted candidates are called for an On-Campus Group Discussion and Personal Interview round with a written test. Apply For MBA

PSG Institute Of Management PGDM Admission 2023

PSGIM also offers full time PGDM program for a duration of 3 years. Candidates having an experience of 2 years are eligible for admission.

Eligibility: Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

PSGIM PGDM Selection Process:

Selection is based on the merit of the MAT (Management Aptitude Test) score. A 2+ year work experience is mandatory for candidates applying for this course.

Shortlisted candidates are called for an On-Campus Group Discussion and Personal Interview round.
Other than MAT scores, marks secured in CAT can also be taken into consideration.

PSG Institute Of Management How to Apply?

Application form for MBA program can be filled online by visiting https://onlineapplication.psgims.net/im.html. PSGIM MBA form can be filled in 2 ways, i.e. Demand Draft Mode and Payment Gateway mode.

Register using E-mail and Fill in all the required details.
Attach a scanned photograph along with the application (size should be less than 30KB or 110x125 pixels).
Pay an application fee is INR 1000 which can be paid through Demand Draft (payable at Coimbatore) or through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Internet Banking facility.
Once the application is submitted, candidates will get a confirmation mail followed by an application number.
In two weeks, shortlisted candidates will receive a letter along with the dates for the interview.

Ques. How can I apply for MBA in PSG?

Ans. To get admission to the PSG MBA 2021, you must apply from the official website: www.psgim.ac.in. After applying, you will be shortlisted on the basis of the scores obtained in CAT/MAT/TANCET for group discussion and personal interview.

Ques. In case if I don’t get admission to an MBA program, can I apply for another management program? If so, what is the procedure?

Ans. Candidates who are unsuccessful in securing admission to the MBA program are eligible for application to other programs offered by PSGIM. However, candidates are required to fill in a separate application form with the same registration number. Eligible candidates then have to undergo all the selection process for admission.

Ques. What are the programs offered by PSGIM?

Ans. PSGIM offers a two-year full-time MBA program approved by AICTE and affiliated to Anna University. PSGIM also offers 2 year PG Diploma in Management Program, which is approved by AICTE. Other than the full-time two-year MBA and PGDM program, PSGIM also offers MBA three-year part-time program at our campus.

PSG group of Institution has a tie-up with the University of Toledo and hence the University offers a two-year full-time MBA program.

Ques. What is the process for getting campus accommodation?

Ans. Candidates seeking campus accommodation need to bring your valid proof of admission for any of the management program and place a request to the administrative officer for campus accommodation.

The institute offers various kind of accommodations i.e.

For Boys
Type 1: Four members sharing with the attached bathroom approximately Rs. 96,500 per annum.
Type 2: Three members sharing with the attached bathroom approximately Rs. 1,05,000 per annum.
Type 3: Twin sharing without attached bathroom approximately Rs. 81,500 per annum.
For Girls: Twin sharing with attached bathroom approximately Rs. 96,000 per annum.

Ques. What are the eligibility criteria and selection process for the UT MBA program?

Ans. Candidates seeking admission to MBA should have a recognized bachelor’s degree in any discipline. The minimum credit is 33 and a CGPA of 3.0 is required to graduate from this course.

Further, a minimum composite score of 550 in MAT and Language comprehension score of at least 40 percentile. Selection of the shortlisted candidates will be conducted on the basis of group discussion and personal interview.

How good is PSG Institute of Management for an MBA? What is the latest placement data?

Ans

PSG Institute of Management is a good college for pursuing an MBA if you want to give yourself a platform to showcase your skills and learn a few new skills during the education process. The college will definitely encourage you to pursue your career goals. However, if you compare it to other B-schools located in Delhi, Mumbai or Bangalore it has a less diverse peer group. Higher Studies: The college also offers a separate course to the students who are willing to continue their higher studies in this field after graduation in some foreign university in USA or Canada or Germany etc. The college does not reveal the placement data. Placements: I have a friend who is an alumnus of the institute, according to him the average CTC offered at the institute is 4 LPA and the highest goes up to around 11 LPA. The placement average for his batch (2016-17) was around 90-95%. Some of them got double offers as well. Sales roles are the most common role which is offered to students here. Finally what is your expectation from the institute is what defines if the college is good for you or not. Overall it is a good institute when compared to other management colleges affiliated with Anna University.

Both Thiagarajar School of Management and PSG Institute of Management are average-rated tier-2 institutes, none of them being up to the mark for an MBA. The points below give a brief overview of the PSG Institute of Management, which has a sight better reputation than the other. Placement in PSGIM is moderate. The average package offered to students in MBA is around 5 LPA, which is considered to be not so decent for MBA graduates. For marketing, the placements are somewhat better. For students in finance, only two major companies, BNY Mellon and State Street visit the campus for placement in core finance jobs. So, most students in all branches of MBA go to sales profiles only. The highest package offered in the institute to date is close to 9 LPA, which is not very high. Academics in PSGIM are is moderate, which is nowhere close to that of IIMs and XLRI. The course offered in the institute is not residential and so, there is less focus on summer internships and practical knowledge-based learning. Both the institutes are not very good options for MBA degrees. But, PSG Institute of Management still manages to offer some decent jobs in Marketing and so it can be considered.

Some people would say that competition is harmful to students as it pressurizes them but, to be honest, we cannot deny the fact that competition always increases the quality whether it is between students or big companies. Having friends in both the institutes, I can say that ICFAI Business school (IBS Hyderabad) is much better than PSG Institute of Management. It is ranked higher, placement opportunities are better there and the crowd you’d meet is really competitive. In PSG Institute of management, you will be dealing with a majority of the Tamil-speaking crowd. Whereas, IBS Hyderabad has a diverse crowd and you get familiar with a different mindset and explore new things there. You will learn a lot in IBS Hyderabad. In NIRF Ranking, ICFAI Business school (IBS Hyderabad) has been ranked #25 in India among top management institutes in 2021.
