St Philomena College, Puttur was established in 1958 and founded by Msgr Antony Patrao. The College has a prestigious history of over 55 years, characterized by a range of impressive education, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. It is managed by the Catholic Board of Education. It is affiliated to Mangalore University and approved by University Grants Commission (UGC).

Every year college conducts many seminar, conferences and workshops to help the students to understand the need/requirements of organizations and society. The main objective of the college is to provide opportunities for higher education to the students.
