The candidates must have the following criterias:

• Graduate with a BSc (Home Science) degree with specialization in Food and Nutrition.
• PG Diploma in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition (DDPHN) or its equivalent.
• Graduate (or equivalent from the following background - sciences, health care, medical, pharmaceutical,catering) - A student would require either a diploma in Nutrition and Health Education Degree (DNHE) or Certificate in Nutrition and Child Care (CNCC) or Certificate in Food and Nutrition (CFN) o fered by IGNOU to be eligible for admission to the M.Sc (DFSM) programme.
• With respect to learners who fulfil the third criteria given above, simultaneous admission to the certificate programme in Food and
• Nutrition (CFN)/Certificate in Nutrition and Child Care CNCC) along with admission to the M.Sc (DFSM) programme shall be granted.
