St Mary's College, Shillong was established in 1965. It is an old Christian college owned and governed by Malankara Orthodox Church with a mission to fulfill educational and moral needs of the society. It was established for the empowerment of weaker sections of society. The college is affiliated to North Eastern Hill University (NEHU). It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with ‘A’ Grade and National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
The main aim college is to maintain the healthy educational environment and it always emphasis on over-all development of the students in terms of improving skills, practical and theoretical knowledge. The college has separate accommodation for girls and boys with all modern facilities.
