Smt Chinnamma Basappa Patil Arts Science and Commerce Degree College, Gulbarga was started with the primary goal of providing higher education in technical and vocational areas, to the students of the region. During that time, the higher education in the region was very expensive, and there were no private institutions for the students of that area.The vision of this institution is to realize the need for imparting quality education in backward regions of society, supporting depressed, encouraging the poor and uplifting the neglected students of rural background with emotions and intellect. This institute’s mission is to cultivate social awareness amongst the students and to assist them in settling in the mainstream of the society by promoting self-reliance, self-respect and discipline in the students.

- Encouragement to students to actively participate in sports: The college has a separate sports room that conducts various sports activities for the students. In 1996University competitions, their students bagged the first prize in a volleyball tournament. In 2007, South Zone tournament, their students got awards in badminton competition.
- UGC Recognition and NAAC Accreditation: The college was recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 1998 under sections 2f and 12b.During the same tenure, the college got B+ grade from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Peer Committee and was granted a donation of 35 lakhs for the renovation of library building
