Siliguri college review as a student

What I Liked

Our college is well known for its big campus whith greenary all around the college. There is also a big ground to play
Our classrooms are huge so that many students can attain the lecture with good sitting arrangements and also there are many rooms with air conditioner
Teching staffs are also great. They are experienced teachers with all of them polite and humble

What I didn’t like

Canteen foods are the worst i would recommend you to bring your own tiffin to the college and the prices are low but the quality of foods are cheap
Library books can not be borrowed for 1 week we have to return it to the library within 5 6 days
Washroom are smelly and dirty specially boys washroom it needs to be clean everyday but the students are careless and shameless

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our college every year throws a freshers party to welcome all the new students . Its a environment of joy and cheerfull. The college union invited famous singers and musicians every year to perform in this ospicios program . Teaching methods are good but i suggest of putting smart screens in every classes beacuse the students sitting in back benches cannot really see the board. Every year there is one semester exam held in our college and the fees of every exam is almost 1k . The difficulty increases every year.

Remarks:

I choose computer science because I was interested in computers programming and coding from the beginning of my schooling I choose this course because I wanted to increase my knowledge about programming and coding we can apply for admission in our Siliguri college through online mode it would take almost 2 to 3 weeks for the admission after the merit list is announced every year there is exams semester wise there a total of 6 semester and within the each semester the difficulty level increases as the year pass by sometimes the admissions portal servers are down and the boards gives us new dates

My college life

What I Liked

Siliguri college campus facilities have a modern auditorium for seminars workshops combined classes and other events
The college also provides guest room facilities for visiting faculty members and parents of student on the campus
Campus is very big and surrounded with Grennary which makes it very beautiful around the campus and also very clean

What I didn’t like

Classroom are big but the sitting arrangements are poor because the benches are really weak
Canteen foods are not that great you should carry your own tiffin in the college
Fans in the college are in worst conditions and need to be repaired

Course Curriculum Overview:

Every programs in our college is celebrated very elegantly and beautifully. Like college orginzes a freshers party every year for the new students of first semester. Famous singers and celebrities are invited in our college to perform for the freshers party

Remarks:

My admission for mt ba english cost ne 10000 rs as i am a general caste but it will cost 5000 rs for st class . Admission are done in online mode and are very easy to apply but we have to wait almost 2 weeks for the admission

My college story of Siliguri college

What I Liked

Siliguiri college is a great college with a big campus with vechle stand and even there are greenery all around the campus which makes it a nature surrounded campus. Our college is very clean and every rules are followed thoroughly by everyone i
Our college library is also a great place with lots of variety of books where we can go and study peacefully together with our friends
There are lots of co curricular activities like football cricket volleyball badminton and also ncc programs are also held in our college

What I didn’t like

Some of our classroom are in worst condition with poor sitting arrangements with weak benches to sit
The food in our canteen is also not good and backyard of our college is also very dirty with long grasses and waste packets
Some of the classrooms have fans but it doesn’t work very well and is very slow which makes it difficult for us in summer session

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is BSC computer science which mainly target on programming languages and coding . So practical classes are more important than theory classes .our college professors also teach us practically and our college have up to date computer systems for that in a huge number

Remarks:

My admission was done in 2023 and was a long procedure where my name came in 3rd merit list Because of high competition among the students it cost me around 12000 rs as I am st but the course fees for general caste is 18000 rs

What I Liked

Our Siliguri college is very good our college have many modern technology system for our studying and our college has very big big groom.
Our college is very good, but the fans are very slow. When we study When we study there in summer, season doesn’t give us here.
Our teaching staff is very good because they teach us very good along with theoretical knowledge. The teacher also gives us practical knowledge.

What I didn’t like

The teaching staff is good, but sometimes they get Good good Tiffin. Don’t get tiffin like the teachers they get tea, cakes, biscuits, and the College.
The food in our canteen area is the worst New student to bring their own Tiffin and eat and eat it in the class and share it with the friends,.
The gatekeeper doesn’t stop the dog from entering the College and dog shit College ground and when we play in the ground, we step into dogs poo.

I wanted to bea came a teacher that's why I choose this course and this course was the best option for me we also have exams semester wise we have total of six semester and there are also tests monthly

Remarks:

My course cost me 5000 rs and I took admission in the year 2023 .we have exam semesters wise and also we have regular test in our collage college is very good but the food in the canteen is worst it should be improved

My college story

What I Liked

Teachers are always on time and they are very smart and have different way of teaching
Sports like football and cricket can be played on college ground beacuse of its big area
Lots of tree trees are there in college premises which make it healthier to breath

What I didn’t like

Seating arrangements are very old fashioned and need to update
Fans in the classroom are really slow and it become very hot during summer
Classrooms are old and junked it should be clean thoroughly

Course Curriculum Overview:

Programing and coding is a thing that made me interested towards computer science. Teachers make us do practicals that's the plus point of our course. Because programming is a thing where theoretical knowledge is not enough.

Remarks:

I was admitted to Siliguri college in the year 2023. Even though I passed out +2 in the year 2021 I took a one-year gap because I was confused about my career but lastly, I decided to do bsc hons in computer science.
