Eligibility basically requires us to opt for 2 compulsory domains with 1 language and maths is a compulsory subject. The admission is done through CUET and further carried on by CSAS. I am from the general category so didn't avail of any benefit. Everything was carried on correctly during admission.

I took admission through the CUET entrance exam and the eligibility of the course was math, English, and 2 other subjects studied in class 12. All the details regarding the application form, etc. are available on the CUET website and the DU samarth website. One improvement that I want is that glitches in conducting exams should be avoided.

UG

Udita Ghosh,

28 Oct 21Bachelor of Commerce from Aryabhatta College, University of Delhi (2018)

One of my friends first took admission in Dyal Singh Evening but then got admitted to Aryabhatta College in the 7th cut-off. He attended 2 classes at the college.

The faculty at Dyal Singh is amazing but the environment and classes are dull. The library and the sports ground are really good as compared to Aryabhatta College.

At Aryabhatta, the faculty is really good and very experienced. The infrastructure is one of the best in Delhi University, as they are newly built and well maintained. There are two canteens on the campus. Being situated in the south campus, there are a lot of places to hang out.

It is suggested that you should join Aryabhatta College over Dyal Singh Evening College, as it will provide better facilities and an environment appropriate for education.

Is Aryabhatta College good?

Tithi Chatterjee,

28 Oct 21studied Bachelor of Business Economics, Aryabhatta College, University of Delhi (2017)

One of my friends studied at Aryabhatta College. According to him, it is really good. He pursued B.A. with Economics Honours.

  • He was also a bit skeptical about the college, but gradually his doubts were cleared.
  • The faculty members are highly experienced and very cooperative.
  • The seniors were also extremely helpful.
  • They have strict rules against ragging.
  • The college has various active societies and clubs.
  • They provide necessary facilities like libraries, canteens, etc.
  • The college being in the South campus gives an added advantage to be at par with other evolving and emerging colleges.

It is recommended that you join the college without having any second thoughts. Aryabhatta College was earlier known as RLA (E) but in 2014 the evening college was transformed into a morning college and renamed as Aryabhatta College.

Sharanya Das,

Both Sri Aurobindo College and Aryabhatta College are equally good. It completely depends on you, which one to give the preference.

  • If you are studious enough, spending 2-3 years in any college will prove beneficial for your career, because your dedication matters more than the institute.
  • You can also opt for the college according to your location. Choose the one where daily transportation will be easier.
  • For a B.Com program, it is advised not to join newly opened colleges like the Aryabhatta and rather stick with the older more experienced ones.
  • The placements at older colleges are also better, due to their years of experience.
  • Aryabhatta has gained its name because of Psychology Hons.

B.Com at Sri Aurobindo College is considered among older institutions and hence would be a slightly better choice over Aryabhatta College.

AD

Aakash Das,

28 Oct 21B.A. from Aryabhatta College, University of Delhi (2019)

One of my friends studied Psychology at Aryabhatta College. According to her, it is really great as it offers immense exposure and opportunities.

  • The college, though being a new establishment, is growing rapidly academically.
  • The college is very strict and has certain rules and regulations to maintain its discipline. 75-80% attendance is compulsory.
  • The faculty is highly experienced and cooperative.
  • The department organizes guest lectures on a regular basis from eminent people in the field of psychology.
  • Srijan, the psychology association of Aryabhatta college is a very active society.
  • Being in Delhi University South Campus there is the ease of transportation.
  • The student crowd is also very good.

Therefore, you can consider this college as a good option not just for psychology but for other courses as well. It might be a little less recognized among other DUs but it will surely provide you with the proper exposure.

CD

Chhaya Das,

28 Oct 21Studied at University of Delhi (2016)

Some of my friends studied Economics honors at Aryabhatta College. According to them, economics honors itself is a comparatively tougher subject, graduating with it is an achievement itself.

  • You get to know about how markets work and relate almost anything and any topic or current issue to the prevailing conditions of an economy.
  • It also demands good skills in mathematics and quantitative ability that will benefit you in the long term.
  • This course will push you to your limit. You will have to submit numerous projects based on case studies and current market scenarios.
  • Aryabhatta College is the youngest college of DU. It originated from an evening college converted to a morning one.

The only thing that is a bit concerning is its placement cell, it is very new. Thus, not having established contacts with the reputed organizations and companies might come as a disadvantage. Few companies that visit the campus are average.

PG

Punit Gupta,

24 Nov 21B.Com (H) from University of Delhi (2020)

Rajdhani college is said to be better than Aryabhatta and Satyawati if the crowd is considered.

Rajdhani is a very underrated college, students often ignore its capability of being a good institution. The crowd here is unlike what is usually pictured. They are highly knowledgeable and determined to their goals. They are hardworking and dedicated individuals who are also driven. Being a college under DU, their students are also highly competitive which creates a disciplined environment.

Like every other college they also have a mix of good and bad students, but due to the presence of the good students the others are encouraged to do good as well.

KB

Kathakali Bhattacharjee

29 Oct 21studies Bachelor of Management Studies at University of Delhi (2022)

Compared to Aryabhatta College and Shyamlal College, Kalindi College is better, in terms of academics. Here are some of the things that you should know about Kalindi College.

  • The faculties are well-experienced and supportive.
  • Kalindi College recently got NAAC A grade accreditation.
  • As it is a girl’s college, classes are conducted regularly.
  • Other than academics the facilities offered at Kalindi are average at best. The food available at the canteen is not that great. There is no common room.
  • Recently the university had an infrastructural maneuver. The infrastructure has improved. There is a new hostel, a new amphitheater, new academic block, etc.
  • Kalindi boasts of various societies like Dramatic Society - RAQS, Fashionista, Debating Society, etc.
  • It has an active placement cell. They regularly organize seminars and placement drives. Some of the popular recruiting companies that visit the campus dive are Kodak Mahindra, HCL, Accenture, etc. Around 70% of students get placed and the average CTC offered at the institute is 3-4 LPA.

Considering the above factors it’s safe to say that Kalindi is the best option.

SS

Sohini Sengupta,

28 Oct 21studied Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Economics at Aryabhatta College (2020)

Aryabhatta College will be a better choice when compared to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College.

  • The faculty is good and highly experienced.
  • There are societies and clubs you can be a part of.
  • The canteen food is hygienic and affordable.
  • The college environment is peaceful and appropriate for an educational institution.
  • Aryabhatta also provides better exposure.
Categories Aryabhatta College
Course Fee 84,000
Placement Percentage 70%
Highest CTC 8 LPA
Average CTC 3-3.5 LPA
Recruiting Companies KPMG, TCS, Cognizant, Dell, etc.

It is suggested that you go for Aryabhatta College. Being a co-ed college situated in the main south campus has its own perks.
