So, to enter into Delhi university we need to give CUET exam. I gave that too . Different courses have different eligibility criteria . Then you are asked to fillup the counselling session and make your prefrence sheets ranking different colleges of the university. The students with higher marks got there preffered colleges first. There are 3 counselling rounds and a spot round for the students who don't get seat in any of the rounds. North campus comes at good ranking then the south campus and then the off campus. The eligibility criteria for Bcom is very simple you have to opt for english , general test and any of two from accountancy, business studies , economics in the CUET exam and if you want to applu for Honours course and Maths become necessary. I also gave IPCET exam thats for IPU university which is a semi goverment university. I too got selected there but since DU was completely goverment I opted for that. Also I gave IPMAT exam but didn't got through as the exam din't went well and the cut off was too very high. Rest every private university will give you admission so if I didn't got into any of them private university was my backup option.

Motilal Nehru College - [MLNC]: 13 answered questions

CR

Chandrakana Ray,

One of my friends studied at Motilal Nehru College (MLNC). According to him, the department of History was certainly one of the best in the university.

  • They had some of the best and most widely known professors.
  • These professors were published historians of repute and their books are followed widely across the university.
  • Now though the faculty is large and is still decent but differs in quality.
  • The books available in the library are extremely helpful.

Ultimately, you might end up not liking the batch, if you are genuinely into learning history. This is because in reality BA (Hons.) in History is very often considered to be the last option for the students. You will find very few students there who are genuinely interested in studying history.

You should give preference to PGDAV or Motilal Nehru. These two colleges belong to the same tier and offer good academics and placements. PGDAV College placements are above average. For the 2020-21 session, more than 150 recruiters visited the campus placement. The highest CTC offered to students was INR 19.50 LPA. If you are a sports enthusiast, you should prefer PGDAV, it has excellent sports facilities.

Matilal has a decent placement record. Students with good academics get job offers through campus placements. The highest CTC offered to the students ranges between INR 10-12 LPA.

  • Hostel facilities are also available including basic amenities.
  • The sports ground is huge, the cultural team actively participates in singing, dancing and drama.

Motilal Nehru is a morning college whereas Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) has both morning and evening colleges.

At first, you will have to decide your preference for the timings. One of my friends graduated from Motilal Nehru College (Day) and has had flatmates studying in evening colleges. According to him their routines were completely different. So, the choice completely depends on you and which time of the day you are comfortable with.

Motilal Nehru has a competent faculty, with spacious new buildings, library and good placements. They also have active societies such as Enactus, DebSoc, Archon Leadership Cell and others.

Another benefit of being in Motilal is that it is located in the South Campus and is always crowded. This crowd attracts the building of proper hangout places. Its Satya Niketan market offers good places to eat and good coaching centers.

On the other hand SBSC (E) would only give you the benefit because of its past reputation, good sports infrastructure and its proximity to Select City Walk.

Therefore make an informed decision as this will be motivated towards the shaping of your career.

Motilal Nehru College (MLNC) is a decent college. As a government college it has a good reputation.

  • It has decent infrastructure with the largest library.
  • It has the lowest fees in DU and the most affordable canteen.
  • It has a flexible attendance routine, so there is no issue.
  • They also have a really cooperative faculty and staff.
  • The student crowd is a mix of both good and bad students.
  • There are many societies here.
  • These include - literary societies, drama societies, dance societies, leadership cell, fashion society, placement cell, North Eastern students’ body, etc. These organisations are active throughout the year.

The one thing you should keep in mind is that no matter which college you study in, if you are hard working and dedicated enough to your studies, you will surely achieve great success. All in all, MLNC is not the best or worst of the colleges. It is good enough to provide you an appropriate education and has their own unique way of approach towards it.

No, there are no hostels near Motilal Nehru College (NLNC) Delhi. But there are lots of PGs nearby.

If you have a better financial condition go for Anand Niketan which is just opposite to Motilal Nehru College.

And if you want something affordable, you can choose Satya Niketan which is approximately 1.5 km away and opposite Venkateshwara College. Satya Niketan Market is always crowded mainly by the south campus students.

Both the areas are completely safe. But Anand Niketan will provide better comfort and a welcoming environment.

Ramanujan and Shivaji are the best options. Shivaji will offer you a great campus experience compared to the other colleges mentioned here. Whereas, Ramanujan will offer great infrastructural facilities.

You can go to Motilal Nehru if you really want to get into the south campus. However, students usually go to Ramanujan or Shivaji after making the cutoff. So, choose wisely.
