1. A candidate taking up an honors course in a subject must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate and 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. OR
2. A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. OR
3. 55% marks in aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject or any related subject in his/her previous qualifying examinations provided all other clauses are satisfied.

Berhampore College offers degree courses of B.A, B.Sc and B.Com under different subject specialisations at the UG level. Each course is offered for three years duration. Honours courses are available in morning shift while general courses are run during day shift. The admission criteria and eligibility is as per the rules of the University of Kalyani, West Bengal.

The selection of candidates is done on merit on the basis of marks secured at 10+2 qualifying examinations. Candidates who have passed 10+2 Examination in General or Vocational Stream conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent examination conducted by equivalent board or, Rabindra Mukta Vidyalaya, or, National Open School recognized by the Distant Learning Council are eligible to apply.

• In order to get admissions in Honours degree courses it is compulsory that candidates must have passed the concerned subject in class 12 examinations.
• As University norms Honours degree candidates must secure 45% marks in aggregate and 55% marks in concerned subject or 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the concerned subject or 55% marks in aggregate in the previous qualifying examination.
• Candidates from vocational stream can only pursue general degree in the available subjects and the minimum marks required is 40% marks in aggregate.
• 5% relaxation is given to candidates belonging to reserved category.
• English and Bengali and Environmental Studies are compulsory subjects to study for all streams.
