Alipurduar College is a government-sponsored college located in Alipurduar, West Bengal and was established in 2020. The college offers several UG & PG courses in its different constituent and affiliated Colleges under the Faculty of Science and Faculty of Arts, Commerce and Law. It offers both general and honours courses like B.Sc, BA, B.Com, BBA, BCA courses. The admission is done based on merit. Ques. Does Alipurduar college take transfer students from other colleges?
Ans. Yes. If a student has been admitted to a College, he/she/transgender shall not, except as otherwise provided in the Ordinances, be subsequently admitted to any other College without the production of a Transfer Certificate from the Principal of the College in which he/she/transgender studied last. A student admitted to a College, shall not ordinarily be allowed to take a transfer to any other College, except at the end of a semester.
If a transfer application is made at any time, other than at the end of a Semester, on the ground of (a) transfer of the parent or guardian of the student from the station at which the College is situated, or (b) reasoned need for a change on the ground of health supported by roper medical evidence, or any other sufficient reason, the Principal may grant the transfer.
Ques. What are the rules that should be followed while admission of transfer students at Alipurduar college?
Ans. Admission on Transfer should abide by the following stipulations:
- A candidate taking transfer from one College to another is required to pursue the same course of study with identical subject combination in both the colleges;
- Admission on transfer must not violate the approved intake of the course concerned of the College granting admission. Only in cases of wards of Government employees who have been transferred, a relaxation of intake may be granted with the permission of the Vice-Chancellor;
- Cases of admission on transfer must be intimated in writing to the University authority by the College admitting such candidates within a fortnight of such admission without which such admission on transfer will not be recognized;
- All other steps and procedures related to the transfer will be by the provisions of the Ordinances.
Ques. Is there any reservation system at Alipurduar College?
Ans. Yes. There will be a reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC/Differently Abled candidates as per Govt. Rules. For differently-abled candidates, a minimum disability of at least 40% will be considered. Reservation is offered as per the NBU rules. Categories along with their percentages are tabulated below:

Ques. Does Alipurduar college have hostel facilities?
Ans. The College has two general Hostels, one for boys with 80 seats and one for girls with 60 seats (Under repairing and renovation). A new Women’s hostel under U.G.C. A special scheme is under construction. Two separate Hostels for S.C./S.T. boys and girls have been set up by the Govt. on the college land within the college campus. These two hostels also provide seats to the bonafide S.C./S.T. College students are controlled by BCW Deptt. of the Govt. of West Bengal. For admission to the college hostels, the students are required to apply in prescribed forms separately after admission to the degree course on payment of necessary fees.
Ques. Does Alipurduar college have NSS and NCC clubs?
Ans. Yes. All students, both boys & girls, are allowed to opt for enrolment in NCC if selected by the concerned NCC officers. Eligible students are allowed to get enlisted as NSS volunteers under the NSS Programme office of the college for doing Social Works.
