The Department of Music offers programs in composition, music theory, and performance leading to the Master of Music (M.Mus.) and in musicology leading to the Master of Arts (M.A.) degrees.
Graduate degrees in Music at the University of Saskatchewan provide an opportunity for students to do an intensive one-on-one study with experienced scholars and performing artists with particular specialties in piano, collaborative piano, voice, strings, brass, and woodwinds.
Each program culminates in a project, recital, or thesis, depending on the discipline and degree. Courses are carefully tailored to each student by the graduate committee to complement studies in the major areas.
The MA program in musicology require 15 credit units plus a thesis. Certain areas of concentration also include the successful completion of a comprehensive examination and a foreign language(s).

Academic Eligibility:

Applicants have a cumulative weighted average of at least 70% in the last two years of study (i.e. 60 credit units).
A four-year bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, from a recognized college or university in an academic discipline relevant to the proposed field of study.
Proof of English proficiency may be required for international applicants, whose first language is not English.
Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL to get admission to this program.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
Completed a master’s degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

Required Documents are:

Three academic or professional references: Three Letters of recommendation (completed via an online application process, no need to send to CGPS from the issuing institution)
CV/Resume: A resume/CV should be a one or two-page concise summary of skills, experience, and education.
Offer Letter: Students must submit have an offer letter.
Test Results: Provide proof of English proficiency, if English is not the first language in student country, as proof of IELTS/TOEFL result scores is to be submitted.
