Food is central to human life and to civilization and there is a growing interest in how they grow and consume food. Agriculture presents environmental, economic, and social challenges, but also promises new ways of producing healthy, sustainable, and affordable food. In this program, the student will develop an interdisciplinary approach to understanding contemporary issues in organic food, farming, fair trade, and many other aspects of food and agriculture from scientific, political, and social perspectives.
