Sociology can help you understand the connection between personal troubles and public issues and develop a better understanding of the complex world in which we live. Sociologists use a diversity of theory, research, and lived experience to explore human behaviour as it occurs through time and across cultures.

In The University of Winnipeg's Sociology program, students will investigate and analyze how various groups and organizations are put together, their purposes, and how they work. They will study how and why they change and the effects of these changes on our society. Sociology graduates find employment in a variety of areas such as social services, criminal justice, social research (including government, independent, and contract research), industrial relations, and administration.
