University of Windsor Accommodations: On-Campus Residence

University of Windsor has 4 on-campus halls (buildings) offered to the international students. On-campus accommodation is best for first semester and exchange students for their comfort and convenience. Students living on-campus to study in Canada enjoy the following facilities:

University of Windsor Accommodations: Near-Campus

Canterbury College offers 11 separate accommodation houses to the students of University of Windsor. Their primary aim is to provide a home to the students who came to enlighten their future. The facilities that students get while living near-campus are as follows:

  • 6 to 12 students can live in each house.
  • Each house is single gender.
  • The houses are located on the north edge of the university campus.
  • Students will get a bed, table and chair, lamp, cupboard, and other amenities.

Regulations for On-Campus and Near-Campus Accommodation

  • Students planning to live on-campus or near-campus are required to commit to a compulsory residence contract. Once signed, the contract keeps the students from changing their accommodations status during their studies.
  • During the long public holidays; like Christmas and New year, students unwilling to travel can stay in their respective houses.
  • Students staying for only Fall semesters are not permitted to stay on-campus during Christmas and new year's holidays.
  • Students are normally expected to vacate their rooms within 24 hours of their last exam.

University of Windsor Accommodations: Off-Campus

Off-Campus accommodation at University of Windsor is available for students planning to find residence on their own. The university does not recommend off-campus accommodation to students who want to live for a single semester only.

While choosing the off-campus accommodation, students need to take care of the following things:

  • Location and distance from campus are near enough to enter the college on time regularly.
  • Must ask about wifi and other facilities that students will need.
  • Must get details of Rental terms, which is also called 'Lease' or rental contract.
  • Furniture in the room, meal facility, other amenities etc.

University of Windsor Accommodation Application Process

First of all, students need to activate their UWinID or email ID before getting into the online application form. Students must have confirmation of their admission offer. Students' new UwinID are uploaded into the university's system to communicate further, and they need to wait 24 hours to get a reply from University of Windsor.

After creating the ID students need to fill out the application form and while filling out the form they need a credit card. So, make sure to have it handy, otherwise, they will be timed out and students will have to start the application process from the beginning.
Note: The deposit by credit card is required even if students have credit on their Uwin student account.

University of Windsor has a medium-sized campus, and it has four buildings for on-campus accommodation named; Alumni Hall, Cartier Hall, Laurier Hall, and Macdonald Hall. The student community in each residence ranges from 150 to 350 students. All halls are conveniently located within the campus allowing students to enjoy short walks to class, food outlets, recreational facilities, libraries, and other stores. Thus, having on-campus accommodation is preferable for students.
