In the Industrial Design program, students will learn how to develop new products that are used in their daily lives. These may include everything from everyday products to mobile apps. Students will be encouraged to design sustainable products that will last many generations, keeping in mind diverse cultures.

Students will learn about research, concept development, and making prototypes. Students will also study how people behave to better understand what their needs are.

An important benefit of studying Industrial Design at OCAD U is that while students are studying theory, students will also be able to take practical, creative hands-on courses, such as design and drawing.

The Industrial Design program is recognized by the Association of Canadian Industrial Designers.
