The Bachelor of Information Technology in Network Technology is a 4-year program at Carleton University.
This program focuses on the design, management, operation, and installation of future complex information networks such as those that make up the Internet and cell phone networks.
Students will learn to design, manage, secure, operate, install, and configure advanced IT networks. State-of-the-art networking labs offer hands-on training with real-world equipment.
The NET program focuses primarily on the design, installation, operation, and management of future complex information networks.
Co-op opportunities help students to develop personal and professional skills such as in government agencies, technology companies, and other private sector industries.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of great design projects.
The student to faculty ratio is 9:1 which bridges the gap between faculty and students.
This program has a partnership with the Cisco Networking Academy, whereby students are trained to successfully write the Cisco Certified Network Associate and Professional certification exams to earn industry-recognized certification.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
Students will need a secondary school or high school graduation certificate with a minimum of 12 years of study.
Students must have transcripts from their senior high school along with their graduation diploma or certificate, and any graduation exam results.
If English is not the students’ first language then they must provide proof of English competency.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Students required to passed Class 12th with a percentage of 74-76% (Major), 78-82% (Honours) from one of the following boards:

Aptitude test results: Used to make inferences about competencies, capabilities, and future performance on the job of the students.
Preference Form: Some departments require students to fill in a preference form that will ask to outline their preferences for the program specialization, research area, or faculty supervisor.
ELP Scores: Students have to submit their English language proficiency scores like IELTS, TOEFL, or other test scores.
An F-1 visa is a type of non-immigrant visa which allows individuals to study in the United States. A student who wishes to enter the US for studies on an F-1 visa will need to submit appropriate documentation in order to be issued a Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility) by UT. An F-1 visa can only be issued by a US consulate or embassy abroad.
The University of Texas at Austin usually requests H-1B nonimmigrant status for individuals it hopes to bring to the U.S. temporarily to perform services in a specialty occupation. This is an occupation that requires theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge. In this case, UT is the petitioner and the individual it hopes to bring is the beneficiary.
Work Study
Working off-campus is not permitted without specific permission from Texas Global or from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
F-1 students may work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Full-time employment (21+ hours per week) is allowed only during vacation periods for enrolled and continuing students. No special permission is necessary, however, a valid I-20 issued by The University of Texas at Austin is required. If students will graduate, then students are only eligible to work on campus until the graduation date of the final semester.
J-1 students may work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Full-time employment (21+ hours per week) is allowed only during vacation periods for enrolled and continuing students.

After this program students have opportunities with network design and installation companies, governments, finance companies, telecom operators, system integrators, educational institutions, private training companies, and many other business enterprises requiring network design, management, and operation.
