The Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering is a 4-year program at Carleton University.
Students will have the opportunity to apply to the Co-operative Education Program.
Carleton’s Mechanical Engineering program defines engineering fundamentals and challenging laboratory and design work.
This Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree program offers:
a comprehensive study in one of Canada’s largest mechanical engineering departments;
an emphasis on problem-solving skills and hands-on laboratory and design work;
excellent laboratory and computer facilities;
an option for a concentration in integrated manufacturing;
a unique and challenging final-year group design project;
excellent scholarships for high-standing students; and
collaborative design projects with government and other research institutes.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of great design projects.
The BEng in Mechanical Engineering is fully accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board.
The student to faculty ratio is 9:1 which bridges the gap between faculty and students.
After graduating from this program, students will meet the educational requirements for registration as a professional engineer.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
Students will need a secondary school or high school graduation certificate with a minimum of 12 years of study.
Students must have transcripts from their senior high school along with their graduation diploma or certificate, and any graduation exam results.
If English is not the students’ first language then they must provide proof of English competency.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Students required to passed Class 12th with a percentage of 74-76% (Major), 78-82% (Honours) from one of the following boards:

Writing Sample: Students applying for a job, internship, may be asked to provide a writing sample that allows an employer or graduate program to judge student ability to convey a written message.
Aptitude test results: Used to make inferences about competencies, capabilities, and future performance on the job of the students.
Preference Form: Some departments require students to fill in a preference form that will ask to outline their preferences for the program specialization, research area, or faculty supervisor.
ELP Scores: Students have to submit their English language proficiency scores like IELTS, TOEFL, or other test scores.
An F-1 visa is a type of non-immigrant visa which allows individuals to study in the United States. A student who wishes to enter the US for studies on an F-1 visa will need to submit appropriate documentation in order to be issued a Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility) by UT. An F-1 visa can only be issued by a US consulate or embassy abroad.
The University of Texas at Austin usually requests H-1B nonimmigrant status for individuals it hopes to bring to the U.S. temporarily to perform services in a specialty occupation. This is an occupation that requires theoretical and practical application of a body of highly specialized knowledge. In this case, UT is the petitioner and the individual it hopes to bring is the beneficiary.
Work Study
Working off-campus is not permitted without specific permission from Texas Global or from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
F-1 students may work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Full-time employment (21+ hours per week) is allowed only during vacation periods for enrolled and continuing students. No special permission is necessary, however, a valid I-20 issued by The University of Texas at Austin is required. If students will graduate, then students are only eligible to work on campus until the graduation date of the final semester.
J-1 students may work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. Full-time employment (21+ hours per week) is allowed only during vacation periods for enrolled and continuing students.
Career and Placement after Course
As a graduate of the Mechanical Engineering degree program, students will be well prepared for challenging positions in the manufacturing industry, energy utilities, government, and industry laboratories, building services and plant engineering, the transportation industry, and a wide variety of consulting engineering firms.
