The studio curriculum stresses the fundamentals of visual communication and its cultural and sociopolitical implications. Art history courses embrace traditional and non-traditional approaches in the study of art, past and present, and involve the production and reception of the visual arts within social, religious, cultural, and political contexts. Courses in both majors allow students to develop an understanding of the visual arts, past and present, and to graduate with the ability to think imaginatively, analytically and critically in the art they create and study.
