Government is the study of political science, not just politics or current events. When you major in Government, you gain
- understanding of ethical implications of political action
- understanding of political institutions and processes at all levels
- the ability to clearly communicate your observations and analysis of political processes.
W&M Government alumni are found in every walk of life, in many different careers. Some go on to graduate school. The more popular graduate programs are public policy and law, but Government majors can be found in many other disciplines - including medicine. Other majors follow careers in the government or non-profit sectors, start businesses, teach...there are many, many possibilities.
