Following are the academic requirements of the program:

Students must have a graduate or professional degree from a regionally accredited university.
A 3.5 GPA for the final two years of undergraduate study or a 3.5 GPA for all master’s level academic coursework is required to take admission in this program.
Students admitted into the program must complete general degree requirements to include core courses in criminology, research methods, statistics, and criminal justice.
The Statement of purpose must include a student's background, goals, and reasons for pursuing their Ph.D. degree at the University of New Haven.
