At American University’s Kogod School of Business, we believe that business is a force for meaningful change. The MS in finance program fully supports this mission, equipping students to make an impact in all areas of the field, from banking to non-profit consulting.
The Student-Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) is a highlight of the program, offering the opportunity to manage over $500,000 in assets. The SMIF mimics the structure of an asset management team, similar to those at Fidelity or Vanguard.
Outside the Student-Managed Investment Fund, students are prepared for their CFA exam with courses in investment banking, financial intermediation in emerging markets, investment analysis and more.
Kogod’s MS in finance program is the only CFA-affiliated program in Washington, DC. The affiliation provides students with valuable CFA program resources, including sample exams and scholarships.
