Students learn to read, write and speak Japanese. They not only learn about the Japanese way of thinking, but also gain the ability to view themselves and others in a broader perspective.
The Japanese language and literature program is a close-knit community of faculty and students dedicated to advancing knowledge of Japanese language, literature and culture in and out of the classroom.
Careers are available in international business, journalism, law, medicine, education, federal government or nonprofits. Graduate study areas include Japanese language and literature, Japanese history and Asian studies.
The Japanese Language and Literature program is offered at George Washington University.
