The University of Alabama’s Communicative Disorders program provides general training in the areas of speech, language, pathology and audiology. Communicative Disorder students are introduced to all aspects of the development of speech and language, hearing, and associated disorders to prepare them for further educational training at the graduate level. Completion of the Communicative Disorders courses is one component of the program leading to a Bachelor of Arts in Communicative Disorders. The faculty consists of both academic and clinical professionals with expertise in areas such as developmental speech and language disorders, autism spectrum disorders, adult neurogenic communication disorders, fluency disorders, swallowing disorders, voice disorders, auditory prostheses, and balance issues.
