The major emphasizes the collaborative process of theatre, providing intensive training in acting, voice and movement, dance and stage combat. Admission to upper-division course work is granted only to students who show strong promise for a career in theatre.

The knowledge of performance, human behavior, dramaturgy, and culture gained from a major in the Theatre Production in the Professional Actor Training Program forms a valuable foundation for a variety of careers.
