Students are admitted into Pre-Business and will apply to Finance major through a competitive and selective process to gain admission.Finance majors analyze financial problems in a variety of settings and develop an understanding of capital structure, financial growth and failure, interest rates, and savings and investments. Students also study the properties of different markets (international financial markets, stocks, bonds, and commodities) and the relationship between financial markets and various financial institutions.

The knowledge of analysis, logic, creative problem solving, capital structure, financial growth, savings and investment, interest rates, markets, and institutional relationships gained from a major in Finance forms a valuable career foundation. Finance graduates can pursue careers in business administration, banking, research and analysis, financial advising, and planning for businesses, nonprofit organizations, schools, manufacturers, and government agencies. A Finance major is also excellent preparation for graduate level business administration study.
