This degree encompasses science, production, marketing, research and utilization of animals and animal products in agriculture, entertainment and companionship. The Race Track Industry Program Option prepares students for careers in the racing industry. The RTI Equine Path combines racing-specific coursework with classes in equine nutrition, reproduction and physiology to prepare students for a career in the breeding, bloodstock or training side of the racing industry.

The knowledge of equine nutrition, breeding, and training, as well as management and legal principles gained from a major in Animal Sciences – Race Track Industry in the Equine Management concentration provides a solid career foundation. Graduates in this concentration may work as breeders, trainers, or caretakers, or may supervise or organize these activities for various sectors of the racing industry. Equine Management also prepares graduates for roles in marketing and management.
