The Leadership and Communication option prepares students to become effective leaders, ambassadors, and/or advocates for the agricultural industry at local, state, national and international levels. Students pursue a course of study that is multidisciplinary providing them with a strong foundation in the agricultural sciences and natural resources, as well as transferable skills in leadership and communication. In addition to completing general education requirements, the option allows students to enroll in a breadth of coursework in technical agriculture areas such as agricultural mechanics, agricultural resources and economics, animal science, entomology, plant and soil sciences. Concurrently, students complete professional course work in areas of leadership and communication, as a focus.

The knowledge of agricultural and applied sciences gained from a major in Agricultural Technology Management and Education with the emphasis on Leadership and Communication, provides a strong foundation that can be applied to many career fields. The agricultural technology management option prepares students for careers in agribusiness and farming technology. The teaching option prepares students as secondary school or community college teachers and is designed to meet requirements for Arizona secondary school certification in agricultural education and general science. The Leadership and Communication emphasis is designed for students to gain leadership and communication skills that can be applied to the agricultural industry at local, state, national, and international levels. Graduates may work in education, agricultural industry, publication, and communication. Some of the job titles listed below may require an advanced degree.
