The Intelligence and National Security specialization emphasizes the historical and political context of American Intelligence agencies and operations while providing deeper social, cultural and academic understanding of world regions critical to national and international intelligence communities. This is another of the most targeted and least flexible specializations within the GPSV program.Students in this specialization are prepared for careers in America’s intelligence community and the expanding network of intelligence-related organizations in the United States.

The knowledge of oral, writing, and argumentative skills, international law, national security, and intelligence, gained from a major in Government and Public Service with a concentration in Intelligence and National Security, provides graduates a solid career foundation. Graduates are well prepared to work in law enforcement, national security, citizenship and immigration services, and political activities and services. This major is also excellent preparation for law school or graduate studies in public administration, or business administration.
