The Department offers the Bachelor of Arts degree and a minor in Political Science, a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and a Bachelor of Science in International Trade. We also participate in the Master of Arts in Social Sciences program, in cooperation with faculty from the Departments of Anthropology, Criminal Justice, History, Psychology, and Sociology.
The analytical and communication skills that one gains in Political Science coupled with the substantive knowledge of government and politics are attractive to a range of employers.
Many of our students are interested in going to law school or graduate school in Political Science or public/nonprofit management, but training in Political Science can prepare students for a variety of other careers and jobs:
- teaching
- government work
- political campaigns
- social work
- writing
