You'll be challenged to consider diverse values, viewpoints and expressions of the imagination as you participate in the staging of four full-length plays at SLU's University Theatre each season.

Every theatre major at SLU is involved in some way with each production that occurs during the theatre season. Plays take place on both a 400-seat main stage and a 70-seat studio at SLU’s University Theatre. There, students become actors, designers and technicians who are responsible, with the mentorship and participation of faculty and staff, for all aspects of each production.

Theatre students at SLU also participate in the MidWest Theatre Auditions and compete for summer theatre jobs and internships with organizations across the country.

Graduates with a degree in theatre from SLU have worked in 30 professional theaters in and around St. Louis, including the Fabulous Fox Theatre, located in the Grand Center arts district one block from SLU's campus; the newly renovated Peabody Opera House; and the Muny, America's oldest and largest outdoor musical theater.
