Geography at SSU focuses on nature-society interactions and on the analytical techniques and computer mapping technologies used to study those issues. It blends environmental and human geography, preparing students to research and solve problems around people's interaction with the environment.

As a major in Geography at Sonoma State, you will take a wide range of classes in both the natural and social sciences in state-of-the-art classrooms and labs. Many classes include field trips and field projects to enhance the classroom experience. You will gain many marketable skills, including research and writing skills, analytical problem solving, field experience, and computer technology skills.You may also choose to make an internship part of your study plan during your senior year.
