A central focus of the programme offered by Eastern Kentucky University?is to demonstrate that the problems and issues our society faces with regard to crime, and our reaction to crime, must be situated within a larger cultural and structural context.

It is therefore expected that criminal justice graduates will be:

  • Conversant with the theoretical and legal principles in criminal justice
  • Knowledgeable of the essential research contributions in the discipline
  • Capable of quantitative and qualitative research and data analysis appropriate to the discipline
  • Competent to assume leadership, policymaking, research, and instructional responsibilities in criminal justice.
