The major is designed to allow students to choose from one of several programs of study that share many common courses to create both a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary educational experience. The major provides students with a traditional theoretical education in the study of Arts while also providing hands on training in state-of-the-art digital studios including Apple Macintosh workstations, Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk Maya, Avid Media Composer, Avid Pro Tools, and Unity game engine software.

Build a Solid Foundation? ?? During the freshman and sophomore years, Film and Media Production students build an educational foundation while they also are beginning to build a portfolio of work to present to potential employers or graduate schools.

Develop a Deeper Level of Understanding ? During the junior year, students complete most of their core courses in Film and Media Production and begin a concentrated study within one of the following areas:

Arts and Media Interdisciplinary (AM-AMI)

The Arts and Media Interdisciplinary concentration offers students the opportunity to develop individualized cross-disciplinary research within the Arts and Media division, including Media Studies, Fine Arts, Music and Theater.

Students will apply key concepts, theoretical knowledge, and technical abilities from the entire Arts and Media division, with required division chair approval.

Digital Art and Design

The Digital Art and Design program primarily focuses on design for printed media.

Course offerings include both theory and studio instruction in Western Civilization Art, Contemporary Art, Drawing, Painting, Digital Color, Page Layout, Photography, Illustration, Advertising Design and Package Design.

Game Design and Animation

This Game Design and Animation program focuses on the Television & Film industries but is specifically designed for the aspiring animator and game design artist.

Emphasis is placed on traditional art & design theory coursework as well as digital studio courses with industry standard design, animation software, and game engine.
