The B.A. or B.S. in Psychology requires 40 academic credits of course work in psychology, in addition to general education and elective courses. The psychology curriculum includes:
- An introductory psychology course accompanied by a lab, in which small groups of students conduct experiments and demonstrations of classic psychology phenomena.
- Courses in experimental design and statistics, with an emphasis on conducting and evaluating research and clearly communicating experimental findings.
- Courses that introduce the central research findings and theories in the core areas of psychology, including human development, cognitive psychology, biopsychology, personality, social psychology, and history of psychology.
