Students must hold BA or BS degree from an accredited university or college, or be currently enrolled in an undergraduate / first-professional degree program at USciences
Prerequisites for the Pharmacognosy, Analytical and Natural Products Chemistry:
- Calculus (2 semesters)
- Organic Chemistry, with laboratory (2 semesters)
- Analytical Chemistry (1 semester)
- Literature of Chemistry (1 semester)
- English Composition (1 semester)
- Organismal or Population Biology (1 semester)
- Cell Biology or Biochemistry (1 semester)
- Statistics (1 semester)
Required Examinations
- GRE
- All graduate students, regardless of program, take a set of four entrance examinations that are designed to measure their chemistry background:
- Analytical Chemistry
- Biochemistry
- Organic Chemistry
- Pharmacognosy (covers basic concepts in natural product chemistry, cell biology, and botany).
- Students may take any individual examination more than once, but they are required to pass the entire set of examinations within one year of matriculation.
- Entrance examinations must be scheduled prior to the start of the first semester and are used to determine the student’s level of understanding from undergraduate courses.
