The graduate program in the Department of English offers full-time Ph.D. and M.A. programs in two fields: Literary and Cultural Studies (LCS) and Composition, Rhetoric and Literacy (C/R/L).
Over sixty graduate students enjoy close interaction with twenty-six nationally renowned faculty members who teach and publish widely on a large variety of historical periods and specializations. Our program is especially strong in the study of Composition, Rhetoric and Literacy; Native American literary studies; and medieval and early modern literatures, with other specialties in British literature, later American literary studies, transnational and multicultural literary and cultural studies, genre studies, theory, and film.
