Students learn through hands-on experiences how to write print and online news and features as well as present information through a variety of media. Students spend a semester writing for the award-winning campus newspaper, The Oklahoma Daily, an invaluable experience giving them a wealth of published material to show future employers.
Completed in 2009, Gaylord Hall has more than 100,000 square-feet of high-tech classroom, presentation, studio and computer lab space. Gaylord Hall includes four computer classrooms, two complete digital broadcast studios, 14 video editing bays, classrooms and two state-of-the-art open multimedia labs. The building is also home to faculty and staff offices, the Edith Kinney Gaylord Library, the 185-seat Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation auditorium and the student-run AD/PR agency.
