International Business is the field of study that focuses on business activities that cross national boundaries, including exports and imports, international trade negotiations, and direct foreign investment. Students study international banking, transfer of technology, exchange rates, international law, and global business strategies, as well as problems facing decision-makers in the international environment, their effects on domestic businesses, and how intercultural business agreements are established. Students learn a broad range of transferable skills, develop strong competence in critical thinking and gain hands-on business experience. There is a wide variety of Connected Learning opportunities both on and off-campus for International Business students. All students in the International Business major participate in Service Learning through BUSS 220, Marketing, which is a required course.  In addition, all International Business majors must take part in at least one international experience by (a) spending a semester abroad or (b) participating in a short-term Lasell-sponsored experience abroad and demonstrate proficiency in a foreign language.

Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business.

By planning early, in consultation with an academic advisor, students may be able to reduce the time it takes to complete a bachelor’s degree in International Business to 3 or 3½ years.
