At UD, the environmental studies program involves several different departments and colleges, taking full advantage of the broad expertise of faculty members. Housed in the College of Earth, Ocean, and the Environment, environmental studies students have the benefit of being integrated with professors and fellow students who have a passion for the earth.

Environmental studies majors must select a concentration in the area preferably at the end of the spring semester sophomore year. Concentrations are offered in environmental advocacy; environmental planning and design; and environment and society. All students must complete a field experience; this allows students to conduct independent research, complete an internship or study abroad in order to gain real-world experience.
