- Master of Science in Data Science at New York University is offered as a 2-years teaching program.
- This program has a co-op work option.
- In order to be eligible to participate in a full-time Co-op Work Term, students must meet the GPA requirements.
- The curriculum is 36 credits, and offers two ways to structure the graduate program that gives students the opportunity to pursue a specialization through the Industry Concentration or tracks.
- Both full-time and part-time students must complete all 36 credits within 5 years of enrolling at NYU as an MS in Data Science candidate.
- CDS offers two “tracks” of study. And within the “Data Science” track, students can specify an area of interest. Students may change tracks until the end of their second semester
- CDS master’s students have a unique opportunity to solve real-world problems through the capstone course in the final year of their program.
- The capstone course is designed to apply knowledge into practice and to develop and improve critical skills such as problem-solving and collaboration skills.
- The Center for Data Science (CDS), as a part of the Data Science and Software Services (DS3) initiative and with support from the Moore-Sloan Data Science Environment (MSDSE), have developed a summer research initiative to introduce MS in Data Science students to research projects around New York University,
- To help students connect with researchers, CDS/DS3 holds a research project fair in the spring.
- During this fair, invited researchers will have the opportunity to meet and talk to students interested in working on open projects.
- They are especially keen to hear from colleagues in the natural, physical and medical sciences.
- CDS offers a limited number of tuition scholarships to selected students admitted to the program. All applicants for admission will be considered for these awards on a competitive basis. These scholarships will cover a portion of the tuition costs for up to two years.
- For 2023 entry, 2 fully-funded master’s scholarships will be available for CDS students from backgrounds underrepresented in AI, including DeepMind mentoring support and a grant for academic conference travel.
- All MS applicants are reviewed for potential scholarship opportunities.
- Thus, in order to be considered for the DeepMind scholarship, the only step applicants need to take is to simply apply to the program.
