You will experience unparalleled opportunities through exposure to our two multi-camera television studios, a recording studio, simulated radio stations, audio and video post-production editing facilities, and numerous digital field gear and multimedia newsrooms.
You will complete a minimum of three hours of practicum experience (hands-on learning in the workplace) at three different levels, as well as an internship. Many students complete their practicums in student-managed media operations on campus including:
- MSU-TV
- The Trail Blazer
- Morehead State Public Radio
Program competencies. Students will demonstrate:
- The ability to communicate professionally in written, oral and visual forms.
- The ability to select media and apply appropriate technology for the dissemination of communication content.
- The ability to critically analyze and evaluate communication sources and content.
- Knowledge of the legal and ethical rights and responsibilities of media content providers serving diverse populations.
- Understanding media impact on the global community.
