Research Chemistry majors are encouraged to participate in ongoing faculty research projects and are required to complete their own Senior Seminar research projects. Examples of MSU faculty research projects include:

  • Detection of substances at illicit drug manufacturing sites
  • Detection and environmental impact of cadmium at industrial sites
  • Organic synthesis and testing of fungicides
  • Studying how a certain type of bond in proteins can control how proteins work
