The music therapy equivalency program is available to students who already have a bachelors degree and wish to meet the requirements set by the American Music Therapy Association to become professional music therapists. This equivalency program prepares students for eligibility to take the Music Therapy Board Certification Examination. It does not, however, make the student eligible for a Bachelor of Science degree in music therapy. Depending upon the students degree and skill level, individual requirements will be outlined by the director of music therapy. There is a minimum two-year residency requirement, which includes participation in a major ensemble for four terms and successful completion of a two-year music theory equivalency test.
