• The Low-Residency Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Program is a two-year, four-semester course of individualized study designed to help poets, fiction writers, creative nonfiction writers, and hybrid-genre writers hone their skill and work towards mastering their craft.
  • Combining Miami University’s long tradition of rigorous graduate English education with the best aspects of the low residency model, students will learn to read and think as writers while benefiting from working one-on-one with literary mentors.
  • Students join a vibrant literary community, drawing inspiration from mentors, fellow students, and visiting writers, scholars, publishing agents, and editors.
  • Small, intensive, and supportive, merging a playful approach to contemporary experimentation with an ambitious exploration of literary traditions, Miami draws students from across the country and beyond to classes in creative nonfiction, poetry, fiction, multimedia, and performance writing.
  • Miami offers two-degree options: a Residential MFA and a Low-Residency MFA.
