- In the mechanical engineering concentration of Messiah's engineering major (BSE), students will learn to apply principles of engineering, physics, and materials science to analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. Courses such as Mechanics of Materials and Thermodynamics prepare students with a diverse knowledge set to apply to many different types of engineering jobs. Students will have the opportunity to study in a program that has been named an “Engineering College of Distinction” by Colleges of Distinction for 2020-2021 and a “Top Engineering Program in the U.S.” by U.S. News & World Report.
