The strength of the major is its?combination of technology skills with a thorough?grounding in all the functional areas of business.?Information Systems graduates are valuable assets?for a wide range of specialized fields, from accounting?and marketing to engineering and medicine. Currently,?information systems alumni from SAU are employed?with firms such as Murphy USA, Acxiom, and?Farm Bureau Insurance of Arkansas.
In the first two years, students take a broad range of?classes both in the Rankin College of Business and across?campus. In the students? final two years, courses?focus more on the degree. Students are assigned a?member of the information systems faculty as an?advisor to help with class scheduling, professional?mentoring, and career placement.
