The Psychology Major has three pincipal objectives:
- To provide a broad background in the scientific study of human behavior and mental processes.
- To provide students with a set of core competencies (e.g., research skills, interpersonal skills) useful in a wide variety of careers and in their personal lives. A complete listing of these competencies can be obtained from the psychology department.
- To prepare those students who seek a professional career in psychology with the basic knowledge and tools necessary for graduate study.
