This?degree program is designed for mid-career adult learners who have four or more years of work experience, and with a keen appreciation of the leader's critical and evolving role in the change process and dynamic environment of 21st Century organizations.?Leaders clearly define goals, give their teams purpose, and motivate them toward the highest levels of success. Those with the ability to lead in today?s challenging environment are considered to be valuable assets.

The B.S. in Organizational Leadership?program?is offered at Mercer's Atlanta, Douglas County, Henry County, and Macon?locations. Students are admitted five times per year in August, October, January, March, and May.

There are four concentration options to meet your professional goals:

  • Change Leadership?equips students with key organizational leadership abilities needed to effect change in organizations.
  • Civic Engagement and Community Leadership?develops informed leaders and active citizens who influence social and economic change in communities.
  • Communication for a Global Society?prepares students to analyze and process communication on a global scale through mastering culturally effective listening, empathy, and communication skills.
  • Women and Leadership?aims to empower female leaders by enhancing opportunities for women to succeed in meaningful leadership roles.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared to:

  • Students will demonstrate goal setting strategies through the development of a personal leadership action plan.
  • Students will be able to articulate a personal philosophy of leadership to lead by example by answering the question, ?Should anyone be led by me??
  • Students will be able to apply research and statistical techniques to improve problem solving and decision making.
  • Students will analyze organizational situations using ethical approaches to decision making.
  • Students will employ leadership theories in a variety of leadership situations.
